ੴ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ॥

ਪ੍ਰੀਤਿ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਿ ਗੁਰੀਆ ਮੋਹਨ ਲਾਲਨਾ ॥ ਜਪਿ ਮਨ ਗੋਬਿੰਦ ਏਕੈ ਅਵਰੁ ਨਹੀ ਕੋ ਲੇਖੈ ਸੰਤ ਲਾਗੁ ਮਨਹਿ ਛਾਡੁ ਦੁਬਿਧਾ ਕੀ ਕੁਰੀਆ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ ਨਿਰਗੁਨ ਹਰੀਆ ਸਰਗੁਨ ਧਰੀਆ ਅਨਿਕ ਕੋਠਰੀਆ ਭਿੰਨ ਭਿੰਨ ਭਿੰਨ ਭਿਨ ਕਰੀਆ ॥ ਵਿਚਿ ਮਨ ਕੋਟਵਰੀਆ ॥ ਨਿਜ ਮੰਦਰਿ ਪਿਰੀਆ ॥ ਤਹਾ ਆਨਦ ਕਰੀਆ ॥ ਨਹ ਮਰੀਆ ਨਹ ਜਰੀਆ ॥੧॥ ਕਿਰਤਨਿ ਜੁਰੀਆ ਬਹੁ ਬਿਧਿ ਫਿਰੀਆ ਪਰ ਕਉ ਹਿਰੀਆ ॥ ਬਿਖਨਾ ਘਿਰੀਆ ॥ ਅਬ ਸਾਧੂ ਸੰਗਿ ਪਰੀਆ ॥ ਹਰਿ ਦੁਆਰੈ ਖਰੀਆ ॥ ਦਰਸਨੁ ਕਰੀਆ ॥ ਨਾਨਕ ਗੁਰ ਮਿਰੀਆ ॥ ਬਹੁਰਿ ਨ ਫਿਰੀਆ ॥੨॥੧॥੪੪॥

ਪੰਜਾਬੀ ਵਿਆਖਿਆ

ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! (ਦੁਨੀਆ ਦੀਆਂ) ਪ੍ਰੀਤਾਂ ਵਿਚੋਂ ਵੱਡੀ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਿ ਮਨ ਨੂੰ ਮੋਹਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਲਾਲ-ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਹੈ । ਹੇ ਮਨ! ਸਿਰਫ਼ ਉਸ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਜਪਿਆ ਕਰ । ਹੋਰ ਕੋਈ ਉੱਦਮ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਦਰਗਾਹ ਵਿਚ ਪਰਵਾਨ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੁੰਦਾ । ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਸੰਤਾਂ ਦੀ ਚਰਨੀਂ ਲੱਗਾ ਰਹੁ, ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਮਨ ਵਿਚੋਂ ਡਾਂਵਾਂਡੋਲ ਰਹਿਣ-ਵਾਲੀ ਦਸ਼ਾ ਦੀ ਪਗਡੰਡੀ ਦੂਰ ਕਰ ।੧।ਰਹਾਉ। ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਨਿਰਲੇਪ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੇ ਤਿ੍ਰਗੁਣੀ ਸੰਸਾਰ ਬਣਾਇਆ, ਇਸ ਵਿਚ ਇਹ ਅਨੇਕਾਂ (ਸਰੀਰ-) ਕੋਠੜੀਆਂ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਵੱਖ ਵੱਖ (ਕਿਸਮ ਦੀਆਂ) ਬਣਾ ਦਿੱਤੀਆਂ । (ਹਰੇਕ ਸਰੀਰ-ਕੋਠੜੀ) ਵਿਚ ਮਨ ਨੂੰ ਕੋਤਵਾਲ ਬਣਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ । ਪਿਆਰਾ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ (ਹਰੇਕ ਸਰੀਰ-ਕੋਠੜੀ ਵਿਚ) ਆਪਣੇ ਮੰਦਰ ਵਿਚ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਅਤੇ ਉੱਥੇ ਆਨੰਦ ਮਾਣਦਾ ਹੈ । ਉਸ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੂੰ ਨਾਹ ਮੌਤ ਆਉਂਦੀ ਹੈ, ਨਾਹ ਬੁਢਾਪਾ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਨੇੜੇ ਢੁੱਕਦਾ ਹੈ ।੧। ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਜੀਵ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਰਚੀ ਰਚਨਾ ਵਿਚ ਹੀ ਜੁੜਿਆ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਕਈ ਤਰੀਕਿਆਂ ਨਾਲ ਭਟਕਦਾ ਫਿਰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਪਰਾਏ (ਧਨ ਨੂੰ, ਰੂਪ ਨੂੰ) ਤੱਕਦਾ ਫਿਰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਵਿਸ਼ੇ-ਵਿਕਾਰਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਘਿਰਿਆ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ । ਇਸ ਮਨੁੱਖਾ ਜਨਮ ਵਿਚ ਜਦੋਂ ਜੀਵ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਵਿਚ ਅੱਪੜਦਾ ਹੈ, ਤਾਂ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਦਰ ਤੇ ਆ ਖਲੋਂਦਾ ਹੈ, (ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ) ਦਰਸਨ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ । ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! (ਜੇਹੜਾ ਭੀ ਮਨੁੱਖ) ਗੁਰੂ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਲਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਮੁੜ ਜਨਮ-ਮਰਣ ਦੇ ਗੇੜ ਵਿਚ ਨਹੀਂ ਭਟਕਦਾ ।੨।੧।੪੪।

English Translation

RAAG SOOHEE, FIFTH MEHL, FIFTH HOUSE, PARTAAL:

ONE UNIVERSAL CREATOR GOD. BY THE GRACE OF THE TRUE GURU:

Love of the enticing Beloved Lord is the most glorious love. Meditate, O mind, on the One Lord of the Universe — nothing else is of any account. Attach your mind to the Saints, and abandon the path of duality. || 1 || Pause || The Lord is absolute and unmanifest; He has assumed the most sublime manifestation. He has fashioned countless body chambers of many, varied, different, myriad forms. Within them, the mind is the policeman; my Beloved lives in the temple of my inner self. He plays there in ecstasy. He does not die, and he never grows old. || 1 || He is engrossed in worldly activities, wandering around in various ways. He steals the property of others, and is surrounded by corruption and sin. But now, he joins the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy, and stands before the Lord’s Gate. He obtains the Blessed Vision of the Lord’s Darshan. Nanak has met the Guru; he shall not be reincarnated again. || 2 || 1 || 44 ||

ਸਲੋਕ ਮਃ ੨ ॥ਅੰਧੇ ਕੈ ਰਾਹਿ ਦਸਿਐ ਅੰਧਾ ਹੋਇ ਸੁ ਜਾਇ ॥ ਹੋਇ ਸੁਜਾਖਾ ਨਾਨਕਾ ਸੋ ਕਿਉ ਉਝੜਿ ਪਾਇ ॥ ਅੰਧੇ ਏਹਿ ਨ ਆਖੀਅਨਿ ਜਿਨ ਮੁਖਿ ਲੋਇਣ ਨਾਹਿ ॥ ਅੰਧੇ ਸੇਈ ਨਾਨਕਾ ਖਸਮਹੁ ਘੁਥੇ ਜਾਹਿ ॥੧॥ ਮਃ ੨ ॥ ਸਾਹਿਬਿ ਅੰਧਾ ਜੋ ਕੀਆ ਕਰੇ ਸੁਜਾਖਾ ਹੋਇ ॥ ਜੇਹਾ ਜਾਣੈ ਤੇਹੋ ਵਰਤੈ ਜੇ ਸਉ ਆਖੈ ਕੋਇ ॥ ਜਿਥੈ ਸੁ ਵਸਤੁ ਨ ਜਾਪਈ ਆਪੇ ਵਰਤਉ ਜਾਣਿ ॥ ਨਾਨਕ ਗਾਹਕੁ ਕਿਉ ਲਏ ਸਕੈ ਨ ਵਸਤੁ ਪਛਾਣਿ ॥੨॥ ਮਃ ੨ ॥ ਸੋ ਕਿਉ ਅੰਧਾ ਆਖੀਐ ਜਿ ਹੁਕਮਹੁ ਅੰਧਾ ਹੋਇ ॥ ਨਾਨਕ ਹੁਕਮੁ ਨ ਬੁਝਈ ਅੰਧਾ ਕਹੀਐ ਸੋਇ ॥੩॥ ਪਉੜੀ ॥ ਕਾਇਆ ਅੰਦਰਿ ਗੜੁ ਕੋਟੁ ਹੈ ਸਭਿ ਦਿਸੰਤਰ ਦੇਸਾ ॥ ਆਪੇ ਤਾੜੀ ਲਾਈਅਨੁ ਸਭ ਮਹਿ ਪਰਵੇਸਾ ॥ ਆਪੇ ਸ੍ਰਿਸਟਿ ਸਾਜੀਅਨੁ ਆਪਿ ਗੁਪਤੁ ਰਖੇਸਾ ॥ ਗੁਰ ਸੇਵਾ ਤੇ ਜਾਣਿਆ ਸਚੁ ਪਰਗਟੀਏਸਾ ॥ ਸਭੁ ਕਿਛੁ ਸਚੋ ਸਚੁ ਹੈ ਗੁਰਿ ਸੋਝੀ ਪਾਈ ॥੧੬॥

ਪੰਜਾਬੀ ਵਿਆਖਿਆ: 

ਸਲੋਕ ਮਃ ੨ ॥

ਜੇ ਕੋਈ ਅੰਨ੍ਹਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ (ਕਿਸੇ ਹੋਰ ਨੂੰ) ਰਾਹ ਦੱਸੇ ਤਾਂ (ਉਸ ਰਾਹ ਉਤੇ) ਉਹੀ ਤੁਰਦਾ ਹੈ ਜੋ ਆਪ ਅੰਨ੍ਹਾ ਹੋਵੇ; ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਸੁਜਾਖਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ (ਅੰਨ੍ਹੇ ਦੇ ਆਖੇ) ਕੁਰਾਹੇ ਨਹੀਂ ਪੈਂਦਾ । (ਪਰ ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਵਿਚ) ਇਹੋ ਜਿਹੇ ਬੰਦਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਅੰਨ੍ਹੇ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਹੀਦਾ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਮੂੰਹ ਉਤੇ ਅੱਖਾਂ ਨਹੀਂ ਹਨ, ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਅੰਨ੍ਹੇ ਉਹੀ ਹਨ ਜੋ ਮਾਲਕ-ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਤੋਂ ਖੁੰਝੇ ਜਾ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ ।੧।ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਲਕ-ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੇ ਆਪ ਅੰਨ੍ਹਾ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ ਉਹ ਤਾਂ ਹੀ ਸੁਜਾਖਾ ਹੋ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ ਜੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਆਪ (ਸੁਜਾਖਾ) ਬਣਾਏ, (ਨਹੀਂ ਤਾਂ, ਅੰਨ੍ਹਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਤਾਂ) ਜਿਹੋ ਜਿਹੀ ਸਮਝ ਰੱਖਦਾ ਹੈ ਉਸੇ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਕਰੀ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਭਾਵੇਂ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਕੋਈ ਸੌ ਵਾਰੀ ਸਮਝਾਏ । ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰ ‘ਨਾਮ’-ਰੂਪ ਪਦਾਰਥ ਦੀ ਸੋਝੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਓਥੇ ਆਪਾ-ਭਾਵ ਦੀ ਵਰਤੋਂ ਹੋ ਰਹੀ ਸਮਝੋ, (ਕਿਉਂਕਿ) ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਗਾਹਕ ਜਿਸ ਸਉਦੇ ਨੂੰ ਪਛਾਣ ਹੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਕਦਾ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਉਹ ਵਿਹਾਵੇ ਕਿਵੇਂ? ।੨।ਜੋ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਰਜ਼ਾ ਵਿਚ ਨੇਤ੍ਰ-ਹੀਣ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਅਸੀਂ ਅੰਨ੍ਹਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਆਖਦੇ, ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਉਹ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਅੰਨ੍ਹਾ ਕਿਹਾ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਜੋ ਰਜ਼ਾ ਨੂੰ ਸਮਝਦਾ ਨਹੀਂ ।੩।(ਮਨੁੱਖਾ-) ਸਰੀਰ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰ (ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦਾ ਹਿਰਦਾ-ਰੂਪ) ਜਿਸ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਕਿਲ੍ਹਾ ਹੈ ਗੜ੍ਹ ਹੈ ਉਹ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਸਾਰੇ ਦੇਸ ਦੇਸਾਂਤਰਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਮੌਜੂਦ ਹੈ, ਸਾਰੇ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਪਰਵੇਸ਼ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਆਪ ਹੀ (ਜੀਵਾਂ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰ) ਤਾੜੀ ਲਾਈ ਹੋਈ ਹੈ (ਉਹ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਟਿਕਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ) । ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੇ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਸ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਟੀ ਸਾਜੀ ਹੈ ਤੇ ਆਪ ਹੀ (ਉਸ ਸ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਟੀ ਵਿਚ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਆਪ ਨੂੰ) ਲੁਕਾਇਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ । ਉਸ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਸੂਝ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਹੁਕਮ ਵਿਚ ਤੁਰਿਆਂ ਆਉਂਦੀ ਹੈ (ਤਾਂ ਹੀ) ਸੱਚਾ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਪਰਗਟ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ ।ਹੈ ਤਾਂ ਹਰ ਥਾਂ ਸੱਚਾ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਆਪ, ਪਰ ਇਹ ਸਮਝ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਹੀ ਪੈਂਦੀ ਹੈ ।੧੬।

English Translation: 

SHALOK, SECOND MEHL: 

He is truly blind, who follows the way shown by the blind man. O Nanak, why should the one who can see, get lost? Do not call them blind, who have no eyes in their face. They alone are blind, O Nanak, who wander away from their Lord and Master. || 1 || SECOND MEHL: One whom the Lord has made blind — the Lord can make him see again. He acts only as he knows, although he may be spoken to a hundred times. Where the real thing is not seen, self-conceit prevails there — know this well. O Nanak, how can the purshaser purchase the real thing, if he cannot recognize it? || 2 || SECOND MEHL: How can someone be called blind, if he was made blind by the Lord’s Command? O Nanak, one who does not understand the Hukam of the Lord’s Command should be called blind. || 3 || PAUREE: Deep within the body is the fortress of the Lord, and all lands and countries. He Himself sits in primal, profound Samaadhi; He Himself is all-pervading. He Himself created the Universe, and He Himself remains hidden within it. Serving the Guru, the Lord is known, and the Truth is revealed. He is True, the Truest of the True; the Guru has imparted this understanding. || 16 ||

 

 ਤਿਲੰਗ ਘਰੁ ੨ ਮਹਲਾ ੫ ॥ ਤੁਧੁ ਬਿਨੁ ਦੂਜਾ ਨਾਹੀ ਕੋਇ ॥ ਤੂ ਕਰਤਾਰੁ ਕਰਹਿ ਸੋ ਹੋਇ ॥ ਤੇਰਾ ਜੋਰੁ ਤੇਰੀ ਮਨਿ ਟੇਕ ॥ ਸਦਾ ਸਦਾ ਜਪਿ ਨਾਨਕ ਏਕ ॥੧॥ ਸਭ ਊਪਰਿ ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮੁ ਦਾਤਾਰੁ ॥ ਤੇਰੀ ਟੇਕ ਤੇਰਾ ਆਧਾਰੁ ॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ ਹੈ ਤੂਹੈ ਤੂ ਹੋਵਨਹਾਰ ॥ ਅਗਮ ਅਗਾਧਿ ਊਚ ਆਪਾਰ ॥ ਜੋ ਤੁਧੁ ਸੇਵਹਿ ਤਿਨ ਭਉ ਦੁਖੁ ਨਾਹਿ ॥ ਗੁਰ ਪਰਸਾਦਿ ਨਾਨਕ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਹਿ ॥੨॥ ਜੋ ਦੀਸੈ ਸੋ ਤੇਰਾ ਰੂਪੁ ॥ ਗੁਣ ਨਿਧਾਨ ਗੋਵਿੰਦ ਅਨੂਪ ॥ ਸਿਮਰਿ ਸਿਮਰਿ ਸਿਮਰਿ ਜਨ ਸੋਇ ॥ ਨਾਨਕ ਕਰਮਿ ਪਰਾਪਤਿ ਹੋਇ ॥੩॥ ਜਿਨਿ ਜਪਿਆ ਤਿਸ ਕਉ ਬਲਿਹਾਰ ॥ ਤਿਸ ਕੈ ਸੰਗਿ ਤਰੈ ਸੰਸਾਰ ॥ ਕਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਲੋਚਾ ਪੂਰਿ ॥ ਸੰਤ ਜਨਾ ਕੀ ਬਾਛਉ ਧੂਰਿ ॥੪॥੨॥ ਅਰਥ: ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਸਭ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਦਾਤਾਂ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਸਭ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਦੇ ਸਿਰ ਉਤੇ ਰਾਖਾ ਹੈ। ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਅਸਾਂ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਨੂੰ) ਤੇਰਾ ਹੀ ਆਸਰਾ ਹੈ, ਤੇਰਾ ਹੀ ਸਹਾਰਾ ਹੈ।ਰਹਾਉ।ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਤੂੰ ਸਾਰੇ ਜਗਤ ਦਾ ਪੈਦਾ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈਂ, ਜੋ ਕੁਝ ਤੂੰ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈਂ, ਉਹੀ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਤੈਥੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ ਹੋਰ ਕੋਈ ਦੂਜਾ ਕੁਝ ਕਰ ਸਕਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ। (ਅਸਾਂ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਨੂੰ) ਤੇਰਾ ਹੀ ਤਾਣ ਹੈ, (ਸਾਡੇ) ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਤੇਰਾ ਹੀ ਸਹਾਰਾ ਹੈ। ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਸਦਾ ਹੀ ਉਸ ਇਕ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਜਪਦਾ ਰਹੁ।੧।ਹੇ ਅਪਹੁੰਚ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਹੇ ਅਥਾਹ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਹੇ ਸਭ ਤੋਂ ਉੱਚੇ ਤੇ ਬੇਅੰਤ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਹਰ ਥਾਂ ਹਰ ਵੇਲੇ ਤੂੰ ਹੀ ਤੂੰ ਹੈਂ, ਤੂੰ ਹੀ ਸਦਾ ਕਾਇਮ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈਂ। ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਜੇਹੜੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਸਿਮਰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਕੋਈ ਡਰ ਕੋਈ ਦੁੱਖ ਪੋਹ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਕਦਾ। ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਨਾਲ ਹੀ (ਮਨੁੱਖ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ) ਗੁਣ ਗਾ ਸਕਦੇ ਹਨ।੨।ਹੇ ਗੁਣਾਂ ਦੇ ਖ਼ਜ਼ਾਨੇ! ਹੇ ਸੋਹਣੇ ਗੋਬਿੰਦ! ਜਗਤ ਵਿਚ) ਜੋ ਕੁਝ ਦਿੱਸਦਾ ਹੈ ਤੇਰਾ ਹੀ ਸਰੂਪ ਹੈ। ਹੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ! ਸਦਾ ਉਸ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਕਰਦਾ ਰਹੁ। ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਸਿਮਰਨ) ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਨਾਲ ਹੀ ਮਿਲਦਾ ਹੈ।੩।ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਜਪਿਆ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਤੋਂ ਕੁਰਬਾਨ ਹੋਣਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ। ਉਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੀ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਵਿਚ (ਰਹਿ ਕੇ) ਸਾਰਾ ਜਗਤ ਸੰਸਾਰ-ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਤੋਂ ਪਾਰ ਲੰਘ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਆਖ-ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਮੇਰੀ ਤਾਂਘ ਪੂਰੀ ਕਰ, ਮੈਂ (ਤੇਰੇ ਦਰ ਤੋਂ) ਤੇਰੇ ਸੰਤ ਜਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਧੂੜ ਮੰਗਦਾ ਹਾਂ।੪।੨।TILANG, SECOND HOUSE, FIFTH MEHL:There is no other than You, Lord. You are the Creator; whatever You do, that alone happens. You are the strength, and You are the support of the mind. Forever and ever, meditate, O Nanak, on the One. || 1 || The Great Giver is the Supreme Lord God over all. You are our support, You are our sustainer. || Pause || You are, You are, and You shall ever be, O inaccessible, unfathomable, lofty and infinite Lord. Those who serve You, are not touched by fear or suffering. By Guru’s Grace, O Nanak, sing the Glorious Praises of the Lord. || 2 || Whatever is seen, is Your form, O treasure of virtue, O Lord of the Universe, O Lord of incomparable beauty. Remembering, remembering, remembering the Lord in meditation, His humble servant becomes like Him. O Nanak, by His Grace, we obtain Him. || 3 || I am a sacrifice to those who meditate on the Lord. Associating with them, the whole world is saved. Says Nanak, God fulfills our hopes and aspirations. I long for the dust of the feet of the Saints. || 4 || 2 ||

The Jewel of the Lord’s Name abides within my heart; the Guru has placed His hand on my forehead. The sins and pains of countless incarnations have been cast out. The Guru has blessed me with the Naam, the Name of the Lord, and my debt has been paid off. || 1 || O my mind, vibrate the Lord’s Name, and all your affairs shall be resolved. The Perfect Guru has implanted the Lord’s Name within me; without the Name, life is useless. || Pause || Without the Guru, the self-willed manmukhs are foolish and ignorant; they are forever entangled in emotional attachment to Maya. They never serve the feet of the Holy; their lives are totally useless. || 2 || Those who serve at the feet of the Holy, the feet of the Holy, their lives are made fruitful, and they belong to the Lord. Make me the slave of the slave of the slaves of the Lord; bless me with Your Mercy, O Lord of the Universe. || 3 || I am blind, ignorant and totally without wisdom; how can I walk on the Path? I am blind — O Guru, please let me grasp the hem of Your robe, so that servant Nanak may walk in harmony with You. || 4 || 1 

 ਜੈਤਸਰੀ ਮਹਲਾ ੪ ਘਰੁ ੧ ਚਉਪਦੇ ੴ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ॥ਮੇਰੈ ਹੀਅਰੈ ਰਤਨੁ ਨਾਮੁ ਹਰਿ ਬਸਿਆ ਗੁਰਿ ਹਾਥੁ ਧਰਿਓ ਮੇਰੈ ਮਾਥਾ ॥ ਜਨਮ ਜਨਮ ਕੇ ਕਿਲਬਿਖ ਦੁਖ ਉਤਰੇ ਗੁਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਦੀਓ ਰਿਨੁ ਲਾਥਾ ॥੧॥ ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ ਭਜੁ ਰਾਮ ਨਾਮੁ ਸਭਿ ਅਰਥਾ ॥ ਗੁਰਿ ਪੂਰੈ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਦ੍ਰਿੜਾਇਆ ਬਿਨੁ ਨਾਵੈ ਜੀਵਨੁ ਬਿਰਥਾ ॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ ਬਿਨੁ ਗੁਰ ਮੂੜ ਭਏ ਹੈ ਮਨਮੁਖ ਤੇ ਮੋਹ ਮਾਇਆ ਨਿਤ ਫਾਥਾ ॥ ਤਿਨ ਸਾਧੂ ਚਰਣ ਨ ਸੇਵੇ ਕਬਹੂ ਤਿਨ ਸਭੁ ਜਨਮੁ ਅਕਾਥਾ ॥੨॥ ਜਿਨ ਸਾਧੂ ਚਰਣ ਸਾਧ ਪਗ ਸੇਵੇ ਤਿਨ ਸਫਲਿਓ ਜਨਮੁ ਸਨਾਥਾ ॥ ਮੋ ਕਉ ਕੀਜੈ ਦਾਸੁ ਦਾਸ ਦਾਸਨ ਕੋ ਹਰਿ ਦਇਆ ਧਾਰਿ ਜਗੰਨਾਥਾ ॥੩॥ ਹਮ ਅੰਧੁਲੇ ਗਿਆਨਹੀਨ ਅਗਿਆਨੀ ਕਿਉ ਚਾਲਹ ਮਾਰਗਿ ਪੰਥਾ ॥ ਹਮ ਅੰਧੁਲੇ ਕਉ ਗੁਰ ਅੰਚਲੁ ਦੀਜੈ ਜਨ ਨਾਨਕ ਚਲਹ ਮਿਲੰਥਾ ॥੪॥੧॥ 

ਅਰਥ: ਹੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ! ਸਦਾ) ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਸਿਮਰਿਆ ਕਰ, (ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ) ਸਾਰੇ ਪਦਾਰਥ (ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ) । (ਹੇ ਮਨ! ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸਰਨ ਪਿਆ ਰਹੁ) ਪੂਰੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਨੇ (ਹੀ) ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ (ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ) ਪੱਕਾ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ। ਤੇ, ਨਾਮ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ ਮਨੁੱਖਾ ਜ਼ਿੰਦਗੀ ਵਿਅਰਥ ਚਲੀ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ।ਰਹਾਉ।

(ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਜਦੋਂ) ਗੁਰੂ ਨੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਸਿਰ ਉੱਤੇ ਆਪਣਾ ਹੱਥ ਰੱਖਿਆ, ਤਾਂ ਮੇਰੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਰਤਨ (ਵਰਗਾ ਕੀਮਤੀ) ਨਾਮ ਆ ਵੱਸਿਆ। (ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਜਿਸ ਭੀ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੂੰ) ਗੁਰੂ ਨੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਦਿੱਤਾ, ਉਸ ਦੇ ਅਨੇਕਾਂ ਜਨਮਾਂ ਦੇ ਪਾਪ ਦੁੱਖ ਦੂਰ ਹੋ ਗਏ, (ਉਸ ਦੇ ਸਿਰੋਂ ਪਾਪਾਂ ਦਾ) ਕਰਜ਼ਾ ਉਤਰ ਗਿਆ।੧।

ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਜੇਹੜੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਆਪਣੇ ਮਨ ਦੇ ਪਿੱਛੇ ਤੁਰਦੇ ਹਨ ਉਹ ਗੁਰੂ (ਦੀ ਸਰਨ) ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ ਮੂਰਖ ਹੋਏ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਹ ਸਦਾ ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਮੋਹ ਵਿਚ ਫਸੇ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ। ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੇ ਕਦੇ ਭੀ ਗੁਰੂ ਦਾ ਆਸਰਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਲਿਆ, ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਸਾਰਾ ਜੀਵਨ ਵਿਅਰਥ ਚਲਾ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।੨।

ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਜੇਹੜੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਓਟ ਲੈਂਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਹ ਖਸਮ ਵਾਲੇ ਬਣ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਜ਼ਿੰਦਗੀ ਕਾਮਯਾਬ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ। ਹੇ ਹਰੀ! ਹੇ ਜਗਤ ਦੇ ਨਾਥ! ਮੇਰੇ ਉੱਤੇ ਮੇਹਰ ਕਰ, ਮੈਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਦਾਸਾਂ ਦੇ ਦਾਸਾਂ ਦਾ ਦਾਸ ਬਣਾ ਲੈ।੩।

ਹੇ ਗੁਰੂ! ਅਸੀ ਮਾਇਆ ਵਿਚ ਅੰਨ੍ਹੇ ਹੋ ਰਹੇ ਹਾਂ, ਅਸੀਂ ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਦੀ ਸੂਝ ਤੋਂ ਸੱਖਣੇ ਹਾਂ, ਸਾਨੂੰ ਸਹੀ ਜੀਵਨ-ਜੁਗਤਿ ਦੀ ਸੂਝ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ, ਅਸੀ ਤੇਰੇ ਦੱਸੇ ਹੋਏ ਜੀਵਨ-ਰਾਹ ਉੱਤੇ ਤੁਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਕਦੇ। ਹੇ ਦਾਸ ਨਾਨਕ! (ਆਖ-) ਹੇ ਗੁਰੂ! ਸਾਨੂੰ ਅੰਨਿ੍ਹਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣਾ ਪੱਲਾ ਫੜਾ, ਤਾਂ ਕਿ ਤੇਰੇ ਪੱਲੇ ਲੱਗ ਕੇ ਅਸੀ ਤੇਰੇ ਦੱਸੇ ਹੋਏ ਰਸਤੇ ਉਤੇ ਤੁਰ ਸਕੀਏ।੪।੧।

 ਧਨਾਸਰੀ ਮਹਲਾ ੧ ॥ ਜੀਵਾ ਤੇਰੈ ਨਾਇ ਮਨਿ ਆਨੰਦੁ ਹੈ ਜੀਉ ॥ ਸਾਚੋ ਸਾਚਾ ਨਾਉ ਗੁਣ ਗੋਵਿੰਦੁ ਹੈ ਜੀਉ ॥ ਗੁਰ ਗਿਆਨੁ ਅਪਾਰਾ ਸਿਰਜਣਹਾਰਾ ਜਿਨਿ ਸਿਰਜੀ ਤਿਨਿ ਗੋਈ ॥ ਪਰਵਾਣਾ ਆਇਆ ਹੁਕਮਿ ਪਠਾਇਆ ਫੇਰਿ ਨ ਸਕੈ ਕੋਈ ॥ ਆਪੇ ਕਰਿ ਵੇਖੈ ਸਿਰਿ ਸਿਰਿ ਲੇਖੈ ਆਪੇ ਸੁਰਤਿ ਬੁਝਾਈ ॥ ਨਾਨਕ ਸਾਹਿਬੁ ਅਗਮ ਅਗੋਚਰੁ ਜੀਵਾ ਸਚੀ ਨਾਈ ॥੧॥ ਤੁਮ ਸਰਿ ਅਵਰੁ ਨ ਕੋਇ ਆਇਆ ਜਾਇਸੀ ਜੀਉ ॥ ਹੁਕਮੀ ਹੋਇ ਨਿਬੇੜੁ ਭਰਮੁ ਚੁਕਾਇਸੀ ਜੀਉ ॥ ਗੁਰੁ ਭਰਮੁ ਚੁਕਾਏ ਅਕਥੁ ਕਹਾਏ ਸਚ ਮਹਿ ਸਾਚੁ ਸਮਾਣਾ ॥ ਆਪਿ ਉਪਾਏ ਆਪਿ ਸਮਾਏ ਹੁਕਮੀ ਹੁਕਮੁ ਪਛਾਣਾ ॥ ਸਚੀ ਵਡਿਆਈ ਗੁਰ ਤੇ ਪਾਈ ਤੂ ਮਨਿ ਅੰਤਿ ਸਖਾਈ ॥ ਨਾਨਕ ਸਾਹਿਬੁ ਅਵਰੁ ਨ ਦੂਜਾ ਨਾਮਿ ਤੇਰੈ ਵਡਿਆਈ ॥੨॥ ਤੂ ਸਚਾ ਸਿਰਜਣਹਾਰੁ ਅਲਖ ਸਿਰੰਦਿਆ ਜੀਉ ॥ ਏਕੁ ਸਾਹਿਬੁ ਦੁਇ ਰਾਹ ਵਾਦ ਵਧੰਦਿਆ ਜੀਉ ॥ ਦੁਇ ਰਾਹ ਚਲਾਏ ਹੁਕਮਿ ਸਬਾਏ ਜਨਮਿ ਮੁਆ ਸੰਸਾਰਾ ॥ ਨਾਮ ਬਿਨਾ ਨਾਹੀ ਕੋ ਬੇਲੀ ਬਿਖੁ ਲਾਦੀ ਸਿਰਿ ਭਾਰਾ ॥ ਹੁਕਮੀ ਆਇਆ ਹੁਕਮੁ ਨ ਬੂਝੈ ਹੁਕਮਿ ਸਵਾਰਣਹਾਰਾ ॥ ਨਾਨਕ ਸਾਹਿਬੁ ਸਬਦਿ ਸਿਞਾਪੈ ਸਾਚਾ ਸਿਰਜਣਹਾਰਾ ॥੩॥ ਭਗਤ ਸੋਹਹਿ ਦਰਵਾਰਿ ਸਬਦਿ ਸੁਹਾਇਆ ਜੀਉ ॥ ਬੋਲਹਿ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਬਾਣਿ ਰਸਨ ਰਸਾਇਆ ਜੀਉ ॥ ਰਸਨ ਰਸਾਏ ਨਾਮਿ ਤਿਸਾਏ ਗੁਰ ਕੈ ਸਬਦਿ ਵਿਕਾਣੇ ॥ ਪਾਰਸਿ ਪਰਸਿਐ ਪਾਰਸੁ ਹੋਏ ਜਾ ਤੇਰੈ ਮਨਿ ਭਾਣੇ ॥ ਅਮਰਾ ਪਦੁ ਪਾਇਆ ਆਪੁ ਗਵਾਇਆ ਵਿਰਲਾ ਗਿਆਨ ਵੀਚਾਰੀ ॥ ਨਾਨਕ ਭਗਤ ਸੋਹਨਿ ਦਰਿ ਸਾਚੈ ਸਾਚੇ ਕੇ ਵਾਪਾਰੀ ॥੪॥ ਭੂਖ ਪਿਆਸੋ ਆਥਿ ਕਿਉ ਦਰਿ ਜਾਇਸਾ ਜੀਉ ॥ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਪੂਛਉ ਜਾਇ ਨਾਮੁ ਧਿਆਇਸਾ ਜੀਉ ॥ ਸਚੁ ਨਾਮੁ ਧਿਆਈ ਸਾਚੁ ਚਵਾਈ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਸਾਚੁ ਪਛਾਣਾ ॥ ਦੀਨਾ ਨਾਥੁ ਦਇਆਲੁ ਨਿਰੰਜਨੁ ਅਨਦਿਨੁ ਨਾਮੁ ਵਖਾਣਾ ॥ ਕਰਣੀ ਕਾਰ ਧੁਰਹੁ ਫੁਰਮਾਈ ਆਪਿ ਮੁਆ ਮਨੁ ਮਾਰੀ ॥ ਨਾਨਕ ਨਾਮੁ ਮਹਾ ਰਸੁ ਮੀਠਾ ਤ੍ਰਿਸਨਾ ਨਾਮਿ ਨਿਵਾਰੀ ॥੫॥੨॥ 

DHANAASAREE, FIRST MEHL:

I live by Your Name; my mind is in ecstasy, Lord. True is the Name of the True Lord. Glorious are the Praises of the Lord of the Universe. Infinite is the spiritual wisdom imparted by the Guru. The Creator Lord who created, shall also destroy. The call of death is sent out by the Lord’s Command; no one can challenge it. He Himself creates, and watches; His written command is above each and every head. He Himself imparts understanding and awareness. O Nanak, the Lord Master is inaccessible and unfathomable; I live by His True Name. || 1 || No one can compare to You, Lord; all come and go. By Your Command, the account is settled, and doubt is dispelled. The Guru dispels doubt, and makes us speak the Unspoken Speech; the true ones are absorbed into Truth. He Himself creates, and He Himself destroys; I accept the Command of the Commander Lord. True greatness comes from the Guru; You alone are the mind’s companion in the end. O Nanak, there is no other than the Lord and Master; greatness comes from Your Name. || 2 || You are the True Creator Lord, the unknowable Maker. There is only the One Lord and Master, but there are two paths, by which conflict increases. All follow these two paths, by the Hukam of the Lord’s Command; the world is born, only to die. Without the Naam, the Name of the Lord, the mortal has no friend at all; he carries loads of sin on his head. By the Hukam of the Lord’s Command, he comes, but he does not understand this Hukam; the Lord’s Hukam is the Embellisher. O Nanak, through the Shabad, the Word of the Lord and Master, the True Creator Lord is realized. || 3 || Your devotees look beautiful in Your Court, embellished with the Shabad. They chant the Ambrosial Word of His Bani, savoring it with their tongues. Savoring it with their tongues, they thirst for the Naam; they are a sacrifice to the Word of the Guru’s Shabad. Touching the philosopher’s stone, they become the philosopher’s stone, which transforms lead into gold; O Lord, they become pleasing to your mind. They attain the immortal status and eradicate their self-conceit; how rare is that person, who contemplates spiritual wisdom. O Nanak, the devotees look beautiful in the Court of the True Lord; they are dealers in the Truth. || 4 || I am hungry and thirsty for wealth; how will I be able to go to the Lord’s Court? I shall go and ask the True Guru, and meditate on the Naam, the Name of the Lord. I meditate on the True Name, chant the True Name, and as Gurmukh, I realize the True Name. Night and day, I chant the Name of the merciful, immaculate Lord, the Master of the poor. 

 ਸੂਹੀ ਮਹਲਾ ੫ ॥ ਗੁਰ ਕੈ ਬਚਨਿ ਰਿਦੈ ਧਿਆਨੁ ਧਾਰੀ ॥ ਰਸਨਾ ਜਾਪੁ ਜਪਉ ਬਨਵਾਰੀ ॥੧॥ ਸਫਲ ਮੂਰਤਿ ਦਰਸਨ ਬਲਿਹਾਰੀ ॥ ਚਰਣ ਕਮਲ ਮਨ ਪ੍ਰਾਣ ਅਧਾਰੀ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ ਸਾਧਸੰਗਿ ਜਨਮ ਮਰਣ ਨਿਵਾਰੀ ॥ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਕਥਾ ਸੁਣਿ ਕਰਨ ਅਧਾਰੀ ॥੨॥ ਕਾਮ ਕ੍ਰੋਧ ਲੋਭ ਮੋਹ ਤਜਾਰੀ ॥ ਦ੍ਰਿੜੁ ਨਾਮ ਦਾਨੁ ਇਸਨਾਨੁ ਸੁਚਾਰੀ ॥੩॥ ਕਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਇਹੁ ਤਤੁ ਬੀਚਾਰੀ ॥ ਰਾਮ ਨਾਮ ਜਪਿ ਪਾਰਿ ਉਤਾਰੀ ॥੪॥੧੨॥੧੮॥

ਅਰਥ: ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਹਸਤੀ ਮਨੁੱਖਾ ਜੀਵਨ ਦਾ ਫਲ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲੀ ਹੈ। ਮੈਂ (ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ) ਦਰਸਨ ਤੋਂ ਸਦਕੇ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹਾਂ। ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਕੋਮਲ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਮੈਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਮਨ ਦਾ ਜਿੰਦ ਦਾ ਆਸਰਾ ਬਣਾਂਦਾ ਹਾਂ।੧।ਰਹਾਉ।

ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਦੀ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਮੈਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਧਿਆਨ ਧਰਦਾ ਹਾਂ, ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣੀ ਜੀਭ ਨਾਲ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ (ਦੇ ਨਾਮ) ਦਾ ਜਾਪ ਜਪਦਾ ਹਾਂ।੧।

ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਵਿਚ (ਰਹਿ ਕੇ) ਮੈਂ ਜਨਮ ਮਰਨ ਦਾ ਗੇੜ ਮੁਕਾ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ, ਅਤੇ ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤਿ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਕੰਨਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਸੁਣ ਕੇ (ਇਸ ਨੂੰ ਮੈਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਜੀਵਨ ਦਾ) ਆਸਰਾ ਬਣਾ ਰਿਹਾ ਹਾਂ।੨।

ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਬਰਕਤਿ ਨਾਲ) ਮੈਂ ਕਾਮ ਕ੍ਰੋਧ ਲੋਭ ਮੋਹ (ਆਦਿਕ) ਨੂੰ ਤਿਆਗਿਆ ਹੈ। ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ-ਨਾਮ ਨੂੰ ਪੱਕਾ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਟਿਕਾਣਾ, ਦੂਜਿਆਂ ਦੀ ਸੇਵਾ ਕਰਨੀ, ਆਚਰਨ ਨੂੰ ਪਵਿਤ੍ਰ ਰੱਖਣਾ-ਇਹ ਮੈਂ ਚੰਗੀ ਜੀਵਨ-ਮਰਯਾਦਾ ਬਣਾ ਲਈ ਹੈ।੩।

ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਆਖ-(ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਤੂੰ ਭੀ) ਇਹ ਅਸਲੀਅਤ ਆਪਣੇ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਵਸਾ ਲੈ, ਅਤੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਜਪ ਕੇ (ਆਪਣੇ ਆਪ ਨੂੰ ਸੰਸਾਰ-ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਤੋਂ) ਪਾਰ ਲੰਘਾ ਲੈ।੪।੧੨।੧੮।

SOOHEE, FIFTH MEHL: Within my heart, I meditate on the Word of the Guru’s Teachings. With my tongue, I chant the Chant of the Lord. || 1 || The image of His vision is fruitful; I am a sacrifice to it. His Lotus Feet are the Support of the mind, the Support of the very breath of life. || 1 || Pause || In the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy, the cycle of birth and death is ended. To hear the Ambrosial Sermon is the support of my ears. || 2 || I have renounced sexual desire, anger, greed and emotional attachment. I have enshrined the Naam within myself, with charity, true cleansing and righteous conduct. || 3 || Says Nanak, I have contemplated this essence of reality; chanting the Name of the Lord, I am carried across. || 4 || 12 || 18 ||
